Weekend in Bruxelles

Brussels, or Bruxelles, as I prefer to call it, is one of our favorite cities. Not only is it beautiful and does it have some excellent restaurants (not to mention the best beer and chocolate!), but we also love the fact that we get to practice our French there!
We decided to plan a little weekend trip to see the Christmas market this year, and it was just magical. Our apartment was located just around the corner from the start of the market and about ten minutes away from the Grand Place. And what a lovely, spacious and bright apartment it was! In fact, it was even on one of the most charming streets -- Rue de la Cigogne.
We spent two days strolling through the illuminated streets, checking out the market stalls, stopping for drinks along the way and eating mussels, carbonade flamande, steak, waffles, and Flemish fries with mayo! And speaking of steak... Want a perfect, thick  and juicy steak? Head to the Drug Opera. It doesn't get any better than that! Till next time Bruxelles!
Rue de la Cigogne
Flemish Frites with mayo! So good. Too bad I couldn't even finish the small size!
A Kir, a terrace and some people watching.
Charming streets.
Want a great steak at a lovely place? Check out the Drug Opera.
Wonderful Christmas market.
Ferris wheel. Enjoyed by hubby and Kirstie. I'm afraid of heights!
Well of course! Mussels in Brussels!
Beauty in every corner.
Chocolate!
Waffles!
Grand Place
Not a beer drinker. Unless it's a raspberry beer at a terrace in Bruxelles!
I could spend a day just looking around here. Such amazing architecture!
